David Kweksilber, the composer of this piece, has listened to a lot of historical Klezmer recordings by Naftule Brandwein and Dave Tarras. As an instrumentalist, he also took lessons with virtuosos such as David Krakauer and Andy Statman. The character and sound of Klezmer serve as inspiration within Kweksilber's own compositions.
