Zdeněk Král wrote Laudate Dominum after his return from Denmark, where he was working on his children's opera Little Wheelchair Girl. All his experiences from this beautiful country found their way into Laudate Dominum. It has been performed live many times, although it was originally written "for the drawer" without commission.
