Zdeněk Král often sets the same text to music several times in order to find the ideal sound. This Ave Maria, which already exists for mixed choir a cappella, is now available in a new version for soprano solo and piano trio.

The melody is strange, almost magical, and seeks to transport the listener into a sacred world. The full sound of the piano trio is let loose in the middle of the piece, providing a welcome nod to the richness and wonder of life itself.
