Description
The title refers to the material from which modern transverse flutes are made. Silver Poetry originally was part of a 12-movement suite in honour of this instrument, written for the flautist Christiane Meininger, a friend of the composer. Presented as a melancholy tango, the composition is based on Chopin's famous Nocturne in C sharp minor.
