Description

Vexilla Regis was composed by John Ireland in 1898, when he was nineteen years old. It was first performed the same year at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, London, with Walter G. Alcock, Director of Music, at the organ, and John Ireland conducting. It was released for publication by the composer shortly before his death in 1962.
