Though Howells composed this Prelude in 1915, it was lost for many years and received its world premiere only in 1998. The performer was Danielle Perrett, who has also edited the work. The Prelude is recorded on ASV DCA 1036. This publication is an important addition to the 20th-century harp repertoire by a major artist whose unashamedly romantic style makes him an ideal composer for the instrument.
