Holst's First Suite in Eb was requested by and written for seven euphonium and tuba players of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Central Band for its 44th chamber winds concert. Arranging one of the best known, all-time classics was a new adventure for me, especially for the odd number of seven players.
