This yearbook centres on music in the First World War – not only on that of the European avant-garde, but also on music used in the war itself. These articles are complemented by organological studies, texts on notation and music-reading, on Wanda Landowska's treatise Musique Ancienne, on problems of music analysis, as well as by studies of the musical space in Giovanni Gabrieli's instrumental music and by methodological reflections on audiovisual perception.
