Between 1995 and 2003 the composer York Höller from Cologne created 14 highly demanding piano pieces which are not only tone pictures, but also compositional reflections on persons personally close to him. They are 'monograms' because Höller often chooses the tone letters of the dedicatees as a basis of his tonal form.
