From the program notes: This composition is the result of a commission offered to me by the Polish-born violinist and composer Piotr Szewczyk for his Violin Futura recitals, a project created by him (in his own words) 'to expand the contemporary violin repertoire with pieces that are fun to play and to listen to.'
