I was so inspired by the beauty and poignancy of the poppies at the Tower of London that I decided to write a short piece for double bass and piano for our concert at Wells Museum on Saturday 15 November 2014.
The music is lyrical and simple and hopefully also evocative and atmospheric. It was subsequently arranged for viola or cello and piano.” [David Heyes]
