“A Cool Six” is a small tribute to Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck. Two giants who renewed jazz just after the Second World War. Miles Davis with his modal “cool” jazz and Dave Brubeck with his unusual timing. “A Cool Six” combines concepts of both gentlemen. A simple melody alternated in E-dorian and E-minor in a 6/4 beat time, however, including all characteristics of Big Band Swing Music.
