Die Sammlung "Klangspuren" von Barbara Heller umfasst 76 Klavierwerke, die für den Barbara Heller-Klavierwettbewerb entstanden sind. Jeder Titel hat seine persönliche Aussage: Die Musik kann ein Bild aufzeigen oder an etwas erinnern, eine kurze Erzählung sein und in eine besondere Stimmung versetzten. Progressiv geordnet wurden die Stücke in zwei Bände aufgeteilt: Band 1 enthält die sehr leichten bis mittelschweren, Band 2 die mittelschweren bis schweren Stücke.
