Diana su l’Elba is one of two serenatas that Johann David Heinichen composed for the famous celebration of the wedding of the German prince Friedrich August III and the Austrian archduchess Maria Josepha in September 1719, this one performed on a ship in the Elba to inaugurate one of the hunts that took place.
