Description
The "Fireworks Music" by Georg Friedrich Händel is one of the most famous works of the Baroque period. In addition to his "Water Music" it is his second open-air music, which was first performed in London in 1749 during a firework display by the British King George II. The king expressly wanted a version for wind instruments and timpani. The huge orchestra of 112 musicians played on boats on the river at the premiere.
