The five-part formal structure of a “grand pas de deux” – entrée, adage, two variations and coda - forms the basis of this duet and is intended as an attempt to capture this “dance of two” in music and reinterpret it for the two instruments clarinet and trumpet. Intense wave movements meet the sound of the wind, creating an impressionistic dance of waves.
