Capriccio consists of four short miniatures inspired by Alphonse Mucha’s four-part gemstone cycle – Topaz, Ruby, Amethyst, and Emerald. Musically, the work draws on both the color characteristics of the stones and presents four highly contrasting sound worlds that offer a fleeting listening experience and evoke a wide range of emotions.
