The wind band arrangement of the world famous Peer Gynt Suite No 1 by Edvard Grieg is mainly oriented towards the original score and tries to transfer its orchestral sounds to wind instruments. This has lead to a lively instrumentation, in which Grieg’s filigree solo passages alternate with effective tutti entries. Due to adequate cueing this arrangement is also playable by reduced concert bands and will give them a worthwhile challenge.
