Tirol: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Philip Glass was premiered at the Klangspuren Festival in Tirol, Austria and written with the support of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Tirol Tourish Board. Glass studied sound documents and sheet music of Tyrolese folk-music, using this source material directly as the basis for the concerto.
