THE TROUBADOUR’S SONG was composed as a preparatory piece for work on Debussy’s Syrinx. The present solo is of similar length, featuring melodic exoticism elegantly melded together with medieval flavor, and with charming roulades that demand a degree of technical maturity. THE TROUBADOUR’S SONG may be performed on its own, or as a lead-in to Syrinx.
