A Lament for 399 is originally for French Horn and String Orchestra, subsequently arranged for double bass by David Heyes. This new version for double bass and piano exploits the sonorous and cantabile qualities of the double bass alongside an inventive and evocative piano accompaniment written by the composer in early 2025.
This edition includes accompaniments for both solo and orchestral tuning.
