Cheryl Frances-Hoad is a Visiting Research Fellow in the Creative Arts at Merton College, Oxford, and she was honoured in 2022 with a BBC Proms commission to mark the Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II resulting in the marvellous work Your Servant, Elizabeth.

This Three Choirs Festival commission, A House of Light, was first performed by the Finnish male vocal group Valkia, and is a twenty-minute work for TTBB chorus and flute, setting a text by Di Sherlock.
