Description
Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington influenced the swing era like no other musician, bandleader and composer. The title It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing), composed and arranged by him, is probably the first song title to bear the word "Swing" and thus coined its musical meaning. Toshio Mashima wrote a proper arrangement of the jazz standard for concert bands.
