19th Century masters of the guitar have bequeathed us any number of etudes and exercises. From this great diversity it has been attempted to make a selection of those pieces which have proved to be particularly instructive in terms of an initial study of the guitar, and could be used as supplementary exercise material for any school of guitar playing. For technical reasons, most of the present etudes have been slightly revised, and fingerings for both hands added.
