Songs from the Lowlands is a collection of 16th and 17th century songs from my home country, the Netherlands, formerly known as ‘the Low Countries’. It alternates between patriotic songs by Adriaen Valerius from the time when our country was occupied by the Spanish, cheeky love songs and a drinking song, Peeckel-Haringh.
