Charles Camilleri is a major contemporary composer. His Sonata Breve for oboe and piano will add significantly to the repertoire and is an exciting and highly effective work. Though very much of its time, it nevertheless remainswithin the more traditional mainstream style and avoids any particularly '20th century' techniques. Grade: 8+
