The fifth étude from the French composer and pianist Henri Jérôme Bertini's (1798–1876) Opus 100 -  25 Études faciles et progressives. Bertini composed approximately 500 études in his lifetime and was a renowned pedagogue in Paris until 1859. This étude derives from an elementary set without octaves, edited by Adolf Ruthardt.
