Description
Hector Berlioz wrote his 'Grande Symphonie Funèbre et Triomphale' in 1840, for the ceremonies celebrating the 10th anniversary of the July Revolution. The first part, the 'Marche Funèbre' (Funeral March), was performed in the procession towards the 'Place de la Bastille’, Berlioz walking in front of the musicians.
