Carola Bauckholt's Zugvögel is a 12-minute work for five woodwind (oboe, clarinet, alto saxophone, bass clarinet, bassoon). The work is inspired by the flight of migratory birds: Whooper Swans scream with every beat of their wings. They trace large circles before they fly off. They cross an immense airspace.
