Playing this three-movement work on two altos is very satisfying. The lower part follows the right hand of the harpsichord, and on a few occasions the left hand of the harpsichord has also been incorporated. During the pastoral Adagio both parts entwine to create sheer harmony and beauty, long to be remembered.
