J S Bach’s original scoring of the work included Voices with Trumpet, Oboes, Strings and Continuo. This movement has been extracted and has frequently been performed separately. Arrangements exist for solo Organ and many other instrument combinations. This Chorale is one of Bach’s most enduring works, familiar to the public and popular as a voluntary at church services and at weddings.
