Franz Pollak was a German composer, conductor, trumpeter and music publisher.
Pollak studied music at the Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum of the University of Augsburg. He then became trumpet player in the orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. In Munich he founded a music publishing house, in which he mainly published his own works.
In addition to many arrangements of orchestral works for wind orchestra, such as Donauwellen, waltz by Iosif Ivanovici, Mondnacht auf der Alster, waltz by Oskar Fetrás, Eine Kutsche voller Mädels, by Willy Berking, Denke heute nicht an morgen by P. Schöll, Fuchsgraben-Polka by Karel Vacek and Bavaria-Polka by H.G. Schütz, he also wrote his own work for wind orchestra.
