Four fantasias on Christmas chorales, set in Baroque and Romantic styles. The keys were selected so that the fantasias on “Lobt Gott, ihr Christen alle gleich”; “Brich an, o schönes Morgenlicht”; “Ich steh an deiner Krippen hier”; and “In dulci jubilo” are appropriate for liturgical use in the worship service. The easily playable pieces are especially suitable for amateur and part-time musicians. The movements can be performed as a concertante cycle or individually.
