I have written this melodic work for my daughter Paulien. It sounds joyful, expressive and light – as a reflection of her character. The composition begins lyrical and dreamy. A soft and sensitive opening fragment leads to a grand, uplifting passage, after which the music goes through a change of atmosphere in the B movement: here the melody and accompaniment sound light, happy and dance-like.
