Ecce quam bonum is one of the so-called hymns of pilgrimage in the Psalms of David which presumably were sung by the supplicants on the road to Jersusalem. The soprano melody, which often tends to move upwards, as well as the ascending scales in the piano depict in sound the pilgrimage of the Faithful who ascended the Mount Zion in Jerusalem.
