In wind class, students learn a wind or percussion instrument together, all children start with no previous knowledge of their instrument, and no previous musical training is necessary. The class usually forms a concert or wind band, but other forms of ensemble are also possible. Thanks to the many arrangements available for wind class, one can chose from a wide range of musical styles and genres.
The main aim of a wind class is to instil in the children a long-term interest in music, to explore the joys of teamwork, and to encourage self-expression and creativity. Many scientific studies have proven that making music together also improves concentration and focus.
