Description
The ‘Rosenkavalier’ fantasy on the famous final duet from the opera was penned by Percy Aldridge Grainger, who was born in Melbourne in 1882. Grainger came to Europe in 1895 as a ‘child prodigy’ and frequently performed in London, where his fame as a virtuoso concert pianist and composer quickly spread. This 'Rosenkavalier' transcription is living proof of Grainger's most important virtue: never being boring.
