Naoumoff was born in Sofia in 1962. His career as a pianist and composer began at the age of eight; for ten years he was a pupil of Nadia Boulanger until her death. At the age of ten Naoumoff composed and performed his own piano concerto under the direction of Yehudi Menuhin. The following years saw him receiving numerous prizes and awards and making appearances as a celebrated pianist.
