Religious festival of Celtic mythology celebrated on November 1st. It marked the end of the pastoral year. The spirits of the afterlife made themselves known to humans. Christianity preserved this tradition in All Saints' Day. In the Anglo-Saxon countries, it was transformed into Halloween. It is also a festival of fires.
