Description
The „Persian March“ op. 289 by Johann Strauss was composed in 1864. Andreas Simbeni's arrangement for wind orchestra, designed for flexible instrumentation and percussion, allows even smaller orchestras to effectively bring out the harmonic and tonal richness of this impressive march. This short march, known for its exotic melody and dynamic structure, was dedicated by Strauss to the Persian Shah Naser al-Din Shah.
